A group of friends embarked on their culinary journey by opening a BBQ restaurant in Teurastamo without any prior experience in the restaurant business back in 2013. Despite the lack of expertise, they managed to create and sell delicious food, and soon it was time for their own bar. B-Side Bar was established in the former sauna premises of Tukkutori in 2015. The bar was led by American Chris, whose wife happened to be our schoolmate. Due to the owners’ background in the film industry, the bar’s walls were adorned with movie posters as much as they could fit. In the same year, B-Side Bar was recognized as the Bar of the Year in some publication.

The goal has always been to create a bar where we would want to hang out—a place that has remained largely unchanged for nearly a decade.

The true essence of the bar lies in its loyal patrons, both new and old. Through their support, it has become evident that the bar serves a purpose. While we boast an extensive selection of American whiskies, great beers, and expertly crafted cocktails, the most crucial elements are the atmosphere and the people.
